Privacy policy

StyleLoop ("we", "us") runs the StyleLoop website at styleloop.co. We are the controller of the personal information described here under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where it applies to you, the EU GDPR.

You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@styleloop.co.

Information you give us:

• Account details: name, email address and password (stored securely as a hash we cannot read).
• Profile and preferences: what you are here to do, sections you shop, sizes, budget, colours and styles you like, location if you add it, and optional fit details such as height, body shape and skin tone.
• Your wardrobe, outfits, saved looks and planner.
• Listings, shop details, photos and prices you publish.
• Messages you send to other members, reports you make and messages to us.
• An optional profile photo.

Information collected automatically: basic technical data such as browser type, device, IP address, pages visited and error logs, used to keep the service secure and working.

Information from others: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google.

When you use Style my pieces, profile photo suggestions, Mirror check or Suggest details, the photo is sent to our AI provider to produce suggestions. We do not store those photos on our servers and our provider processes them only to return a result.

Fit details such as skin tone and body shape are always optional. A photo only pre-fills suggestions, which you can change or remove. We use these answers only to tailor styling ideas for you.

AI suggestions are automated and may be wrong. They do not produce legal or similarly significant effects for you.

• To provide the service (contract): run your account, show listings, save your wardrobe, deliver messages and send account emails such as codes and password resets.
• To keep StyleLoop safe (legitimate interests): prevent fraud and spam, review reports, enforce our Terms and fix problems.
• To improve StyleLoop (legitimate interests): understand which features help people, using information that is aggregated where possible.
• To send alerts (contract and legitimate interests): new messages, saved pieces and listing updates. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
• Optional fit details (your consent): you can remove them at any time from your profile.
• To meet legal duties (legal obligation): respond to lawful requests and keep required records.

Other members see what you publish: your shop name, listings, profile photo and messages you send them. Everything else stays private.

We use trusted service providers who act on our instructions:

• Hosting, database and sign-in services.
• Email delivery (Resend) for codes, resets and alerts.
• AI processing for styling suggestions.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with it.

We may share information if required by law, to protect people's safety, or as part of a business sale where the buyer continues this policy. We never sell your personal information.

Some providers process data outside the UK and European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens we rely on adequacy decisions, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses to keep your information protected.

• Account and profile information: while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days of closing it.
• Listings and messages: while your account is open; we may keep records of removed listings and reports for up to 2 years to keep the community safe.
• Styling photos: not stored.
• Technical logs: usually up to 90 days.

You have the right to access, correct, delete or download your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@styleloop.co and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to help first.

We use encryption in transit, access controls so members can only see their own private information, and hashed passwords. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you notice anything unusual.

StyleLoop is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from younger children. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top. For important changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
